We have entered into an exclusive partnership with American Express for our Hilton Honors co-branded credit cards in the United States. On January 30th, your existing Citi Hilton Honors Card will be replaced with a Hilton Honors American Express Card. Your relationship with Hilton Honors remains unchanged and you will continue to earn Hilton Honors Points on your Citi Hilton Honors Card until then. We value your ongoing loyalty to Hilton Honors and are committed to providing exceptional customer service while offering our members the best, most unique experiences possible. If you have any questions, please review the FAQ below.

  1. Q: What’s happening to my Citi Hilton Honors Card?
A: Starting in 2018, American Express will be the exclusive issuer of the Hilton Honors credit card program. If your Citi Hilton Honors Card is open and eligible, it will automatically be replaced with a Hilton Honors American Express Hilton Card in January. The Hilton Honors American Express Card that replaces your Citi Hilton Honors Card will be available for use starting on January 30, 2018. From now until January 30, 2018, please continue to use your Citi Hilton Honors Card as you normally do and you will continue to earn Hilton Honors points for eligible purchases.
  2. Q: How do I know if my existing Citi Hilton Honors Card is eligible to be transferred to American Express?
A: American Express and Citi are evaluating which Citi Hilton Honors Card accounts are eligible to automatically transfer to American Express on January 30, 2018. There is no need to reapply and American Express will not perform a credit check as part of the transfer. If your account will not transfer to American Express, Citi will contact you with additional information.
  3. Q: How long can I continue to use my Citi Hilton Honors Card?
A: You should use your Citi Hilton Honors Card until January 30, 2018. The Hilton Honors American Express Card that replaces your Citi Hilton Honors Card will be available for use starting on January 30, 2018.
  4. Q: Do I need to cancel my Citi Hilton Honors Card?
A: No. You should continue to use your Citi Hilton Honors Card as you normally do until January 30, 2018 and you will continue to earn Hilton Honors points for eligible purchases based on the terms of your Citi Hilton Honors Card. As long as your account is open and eligible, it will automatically transfer to American Express on January 30, 2018. If you cancel your Citi Hilton Honors Card, your account will not transfer to American Express.   Please note that if you cancel your Citi Hilton Honors Card between November 17, 2017 and January 30, 2018, you may still receive a Hilton Honors American Express Card in the mail in January 2018 but the Card will never be activated. Please go ahead and destroy the Card if you receive it.
  5. Q: Do I need to apply for a new account with American Express?
A: No. As long as your Citi Hilton Honors Card account is open and eligible, it will automatically transfer to American Express on January 30, 2018. There is no need to reapply and American Express will not perform a credit check as part of the transfer.
  6. Q: Which Hilton Honors American Express card will I be receiving?

  7. Q: When will I receive the Hilton Honors American Express Card that replaces my Citi Hilton Honors Card?
A: Your Hilton Honors American Express Card will arrive in the mail shortly. Your Card was mailed to the primary account holder’s address that was on file with Citi as of mid-November, 2017.  Please note that if you cancel your Citi Hilton Honors Card between November 17, 2017 and January 30, 2018, you may still receive a Hilton Honors American Express Card in the mail in January 2018 but the Card will never be activated. Please go ahead and destroy the Card if you receive it.
  8. Q: What will happen to the balance(s) on my Citi Hilton Honors Card?
A: Any unpaid balance(s) on your Citi Hilton Honors Card will be transferred to your new account with American Express on January 30, 2018.
  9. Q: Will my Card account number change?
A: Yes. The account numbers for you and your authorized users, if any, will change. Starting January 30, 2018, you will need to provide your updated account information to all merchants with whom you have recurring automatic payments (such as your utility provider, mobile phone provider or fitness center), card information stored on file (such as HiltonHonors.com, Amazon.com and Uber), digital wallets (such as Apple Pay and Samsung Pay) and any bill payment services you may use to pay your credit card bill. Your Hilton Honors account number will not change.
  10. Q: Can I continue to manage my account online?
A: Until January 30, 2018, you can continue to access your account online at Citi.com.  Please note, however, that after January 25, 2018 only limited online functionality will be available to Citi Card holders whose accounts are transferring to American Express.  Before that time, please download and save any billing statements for your Citi Hilton Honors Card that you would like to keep for your records. Starting January 30, 2018, you will be able to create and manage an online profile at americanexpress.com. If you already have an online profile with americanexpress.com, you will be able to link your Hilton Honors American Express Card to your existing profile.
  11. Q. What will happen to the authorized users on my Citi Hilton Honors account?
A: Your authorized users, if any, will remain on your account. You will receive replacement Hilton Honors American Express Cards with new account numbers for existing authorized users on your account shortly. All Cards were mailed to the primary account holder’s address that was on file with Citi as of mid-November, 2017.
  12. Q: I have authorized users on my Citi Hilton Honors Card account. What will be different for these authorized users when my Citi Hilton Honors Card account is transferred to American Express?
A: Your authorized users will have a different account number than the basic/primary account holder. Their transactions will appear in a separate section of your billing statement. If you would like to give any of your authorized users full access to manage your account, we invite you to set them up as an Account Manager on americanexpress.com/accountmanager or by calling the number on the back of your American Express Card starting January 30, 2018. The Account Manager can handle tasks such as viewing statements, making payments, and disputing charges. For more information about Account Manager, visit americanexpress.com/accountmanager.
  13. Q: Will my new Hilton Honors American Express Card be a Contactless Card?
A: Yes. Contactless technology allows you to make quick and easy payments with a simple tap. To pay using your contactless feature, look for the contactless symbol on the reader at participating merchants. Then tap your Card on the reader. It’s as simple as that. If the merchant does not accept contactless payments, you can still use your Card the same way you do today.
  14. Q: Will I need to add my new Hilton Honors American Express Card to my mobile wallet (e.g. Apple Pay, Samsung Pay)?
